After having left the Samajwadi Party as its state president, Rohidas Shirodkar's association with Aam Aadmi Party lasted barely three months and he has now parted ways with the party after alleging that it had been dictating to Goans.
Shirodkar had joined AAP on September 25 and at the time had said, “I believe there are no bosses in AAP, hence I wanted to join this party. AAP has become voice of the people and the youth are attracted to it.”
However in a U-turn on Tuesday, Shirodkar accused AAP of acting as a dictator.
“There are bosses in AAP. Youth leaders from Delhi come to Goa and start dictating to us. It is a baseless party,” Shirodkar said, while addressing a news conference in the city.
Asked to justify his statement that AAP was a baseless party, Shirodkar replied, “They don’t know issues affecting Goa. They are only boasting of works done in Delhi. AAP looks at workers as ‘use and throw.’”
When asked if he had aspired for a party ticket from Ponda, Shirodkar replied in the negative.
“I never sought a party ticket, but I had asked the party leaders to appoint me on the central committee. They did not honour my request," he said.
Shirodkar also sought to know how a party could announce the name of its chief ministerial candidate without taking the masses into confidence.
Meanwhile, AAP Marcaim candidate Adv Surel Tilve has told The Goan that they have not received resignation from Shirodkar. “We will take disciplinary action against Shirodkar for accusing us,” he said.
