Four boys escape from Apna Ghar

Four inmates of Apna Ghar, Merces, escaped from the facility on Tuesday afternoon. While two were from the juvenile justice board section of the facility, the other two were admitted for protective care under directions of the Child Welfare Committee.

The incident occurred at 2.45 pm on Tuesday. Old Goa police are on the lookout for three boys as one boy, a juvenile, has reportedly reached his home. Director of Women and Child Development Ruhi Redkar visited Apna Ghar at 5.30 pm to take stock of the situation.
A written communication was made to the Old Goa police station by 6 pm, three hours after the incident. The police are conducting the preliminary inquiry and are yet to register the matter. Redkar told the Goan she has sought a report from the authorities.
