In another joint operation by Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) and Anjuna Police, four foreigners, all women, were arrested on Sunday for overstaying after their visas and passports had expired.
According to police, all four are from countries in East Africa. They were arrested from a house in Anjuna during a combing operation conducted by the team of police of ANC and Anjuna Police Station.
The four foreigners “ Mwanamanko Said (40) and Subira Maliku (25) from Tanzania and Roshan Kayirah (31) and Edith Nampija (25) from Uganda “ were found to be staying without valid visas and passports.
A case under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act was registered against the foreigners who were then taken into custody.
Further investigation is in progress.
