Ganja seized in Ponda, 3 held
PONDA: In raids in Ponda, the police have seized 7 kgs of ganja worth around Rs 5 lakh at three different places. Three persons have been arrested, while some others are detained in this connection.
It may be recalled that in the first week of September, Ponda Police seized ganja weighing 4.950 kgs from Epun Khansama of Orissa at KTC bus stand, Ponda, while in the first week of August, ganja weighing 3.875 kgs was seized from a native of Madhya Pradesh.
This is the third case in the last two months.
On Monday, the police raided three places on the outskirts of Ponda and seized the contraband from the accused who were waiting for the customers.
Police sources informed that over 10 persons are involved in the case. Police were still registering cases till late evening.
