SANGUEM
Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar on Thursday threatened a sit-in agitation along with the people from Sanguem outside the Xelpem Power Station, if his demand for adequate manpower to tackle power supply problems in Sanguem is not met by July 13.
Speaking at an agitation at the Electricity Department Office in Sanguem, Gaonkar warned that instead of sitting for the assembly session, he would sit at the
Xelpem Power Station along with the people. “Despite having to cover a maximum area, the government has failed to sanction the desired manpower for the Sanguem electricity department and this has severely affected the power supply in Sanguem,’ said Gaonkar.
Gaonkar has demanded the availability of at least 10 linesman at Quepem and another eight in Sanguem solely at his disposal to tackle the problems for the time being.
