Gaonkar-backed panel takes over 5 p’yats in Sanguem

Sanguem MLA Prasad Gaonkar has claimed that out of the seven panchayats in Sanguem constituency, five panchayats “ Uguem, Bhati, Vadem-Curdi, Molcornem and Caurem Pirla has been backed by him and will work for overall development of the villages.

Speaking on two panchayats of Rivona and Neturlim which are not in his camp, Gaonkar said nothing will stop him from undertaking development of these villages.   
Addressing a news conference on Monday, MLA Gaonkar claimed that five panchayats in Sanguem constituency has been won by his panel and the panchayats have given their support to him.   
Gaonkar said Uguem, Bhati, Vadem-Curdi, Molcornem and Caurem Pirla panchayats have been backed by him. He said he along with the new panchas will undertake various development works.
“I will resolve issues like water shortage, basic amenities, infrastructure, rehabilitation of Selaulim dam people from Curdi, etc,” he said.   
When asked whether the panchayats which didn’t give their support to him would get affected, Gaonkar said he has voters in all the pockets of Sanguem and nothing will stop him from helping people from Neturlim and Rivona.   
The newly elected sarpanchas of Uguem, Vadem-Curdi, Molcornem and Caurem-Pirla said their villages are underdeveloped and they will try to undertake pending public works and basic amenities with the help of the MLA.
