Goa Forward Party (GFP) chief Vijai Sardesai on Saturday began his outreach programme across Kushavati district, choosing Sanvordem constituency as the starting point of the tour.
Sardesai was accompanied by former minister Deepak Pauskar during the visit. The leaders toured different areas of the constituency, interacted with local residents and community members, and sought to gauge the public mood and response to the ongoing political developments in the State.
The outreach assumes significance with Sardesai seeking to strengthen the Goa Forward Party's grassroots presence and establish direct contact with people in the district.
During the visit, Sardesai and Pauskar held interactions with residents and listened to their views on various local and wider issues. The leaders also assessed the response to the GFP's political campaign and its call for greater participation of Goemkars in shaping the future political direction of the state.
Speaking during the outreach programme, Sardesai said the response received in Savordem was an indication of a growing desire among people for political change.
“The overwhelming response and enthusiasm from the people of Savordem is a clear message that Goa is ready for change and Goemkars are ready to make their voice heard,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai said the enthusiasm shown by residents reflected their willingness to engage with an alternative political platform and make their concerns and aspirations heard.
The presence of Pauskar alongside Sardesai also added political significance to the Savordem leg of the programme. Pauskar, a former minister and prominent political figure, interacted with residents during the tour.
The GFP leadership is expected to use the outreach programme to expand its organisational network at the grassroots level and understand constituency-specific concerns while simultaneously building momentum around the Kushavati district.
The Sanvordem visit marks the beginning of the party's wider outreach exercise, with Sardesai expected to continue his interactions across other areas of Kushavati district in the coming days.
