Raring to take up the saffron challenge in the ensuing civic polls, Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai on Sunday said the regional party is willing to cross swords against the might of the ruling party even in the event the government decides to hold the municipal election on party lines.
Saying that the battle in Fatorda is always all versus one, Sardesai said if Home Minister Amit Shah can woo voters in Assam that only development is the way forward, the Goa Forward will bank on the development plank while seeking votes from Fatordekars.
During an informal chat with the media during the inspection of the cricket grounds at Borda on Sunday, Sardesai further said since the BJP resorts to cheating while carrying out the ward delimitation and reservation process, the party had gone to the High Court this time, which will now make it mandatory to unveil the delimitation and reservation three weeks before the commencement of the election process.
“We are not afraid of contesting the municipal polls on party lines if the government so decides. We are ready to take the ruling party head-on. We want to prove that only development is the way forward in Fatorda,” he asserted.
Referring to Home Minister Amit Shah’s development mantra in Assam saying that only development is the way forward, Sardesai said the Goa Forward will highlight the development that was ushered in Fatorda for two years.
“The BJP should know that Fatordekars are not blind. They know what did not take place in Fatorda for 10 years was implemented in two years. We are rooted to the ground and will take the fight to the enemy camp,” he added.
