Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has called Chief Minister Pramod Sawant a “failed CM” and a “puncture CM”, alleging that the Chief Minister was using the term to avoid blaming MTS staff for delays in government works.
Addressing a press briefing on Tuesday, Chodankar also described Sawant as an “accidental CM”, claiming that he had become Chief Minister through postal ballots.
“Yesterday, it was proved that the CM became an ‘accidental CM’ through postal ballots. When LoP Rahul Gandhi visited Goa, he explained how the BJP government had made Goa a model state in corruption,” Chodankar said.
He further alleged that corruption had become a hallmark of Sawant’s tenure and accused the Chief Minister of blaming peons for the failures of his government.
“The failures which we have highlighted time and again are now being admitted by the CM himself,” Chodankar said.
On the issue of political alliances, Chodankar said talks had been halted by the other parties. He also expressed confidence that Congress would have its own MLAs in Benaulim and Velim in the upcoming elections, instead of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which currently represents both constituencies.
