OLD GOA
Even as their rehabilitation is taking longer than expected, the affected kiosk owners whose kiosks were recently demolished outside the GMC hospital complex have expressed full faith in Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that he would fulfil his promise.
Asked to comment on the progress of their rehabilitation plan, a kiosk owner Domnic Pereira informed The Goan that he has been following up the issue with St Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes as well as PWD officials and he has been apprised that a revised rehabilitation plan is ready.
“All that now is required is approval from the government. And we have full faith in CM Pramod Sawant that he would fulfil his assurance of rehabilitating us,” Pereira stated.
When contacted, MLA Tony Fernandes reiterated that a revised rehabilitation plan is ready to accommodate the rest of the affected kiosk owners and fruit vendors.
“The plan will be discussed with the chief minister within this week and once the approval is given, the plan will be enforced,” Fernandes added.
