Allaying privacy concerns after nine private websites were permitted to display the SSC results, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday insisted that no personal and demographic information

had been shared with the private players.

Goa Board Secretary Bhaghirath Shetye clarified that no personal and demographic information had been shared with the private

players.

“Personal information of students is fully protected and not shared with private players. They are only supplied with seat numbers of students and the marks scored.”

“Even the name of the school is not reflected. So, people should not worry over the possibility that private players may misuse the information,” said

Shetye.

Concerns had been raised after nine private websites had been permitted to display the results.

These websites were schools9.com, Indiatoday.in, boardresults.online, jagranjosh.com, results.shiksha, examresults.net, knowyourresult.com, indiaresults.com, and

 newsnation.in.

The Board’s website itself has also

been listed.

The concern raised was that people did not know if their information was being misused by these third party websites.

There had been suggestions that Goa Board should have been the lone source for the exam results, as was a practice followed at the ICSE results for lakhs of its students, instead of relying on private and third party websites, given the advancement in technology and an emphasis

on e-education and

e-governance.
