Goa Board discontinues Oct exams

Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) has a decision to scrap October examination from this year onwards. However, the supplementary examination will be conducted from June 8 onwards.

PANAJI: 
“From this year onwards, there will be no examination in October. The Board has already taken the decision to scrap it. Nonetheless, supplementary exam can be answered by students failing in any number of subjects,” said GBSHSE Chairman J R Rebello.
Explaining further, he said, “There is no wastage of a year if the students manage to clear the supplementary exam. And furthermore, they can join higher studies during the same academic year.”

PANAJIGoa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education recorded a pass percentage of 88.77 per cent at the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Examination, this year.  However, the results have witnessed a decrease of 1.33 per cent compared to last year.Girls have outperformed boys this year once again.
