Devotees were in for a big surprise on Tuesday when Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with his team of officials visited the famous Yalamma Devi temple at Savadatti, about 100 kms from Belagavi.
Sawant, who has been a devote follower of goddess Yalamma Devi, whose temple is on a hillock near Saundatti town, had also visited the temple before and after the Goa Assembly elections.
The Goa CM, who was accompanied by his family, was welcomed with the traditional shehanai-tasha music by the mandir authorities and was also felicitated. The visit, however, was kept under wraps as he kept away from the media persons.
