Mapusa police arrested the Pune-based organiser of the MOGRIP Supercross Championship at Bodgeshwar ground, which claimed the life of a youth during a motorcycle stunt. The accused was later released on bail.
On Monday, police had registered a case against the accused, Shyam Kothari, and other co-organisers of the championship on charges of negligence and culpable homicide under Sections 336, 304 A and 34 of IPC.
Altab Alam Hasan Ladji (20) of Gogol-Margao had lost control of his motorcycle and was struck by two other motorcycles during the event. He was seriously injured and died at the GMC hospital.
The police arrested the organiser, Shyam Kothari, on Tuesday morning and a court later released him on bail. Police are conducting further investigation.
