The first meeting of alliance partners to decide on a “common minimum programme” was held at the Chief Minister’s official residence at Altinho.
Emerging from the meeting, Goa Forward leader Vijai Sardesai said that the “motto” of the government would be “sabka saath sabka vikas” along with “Goenkarponn” that would determine the policies of the current government.
“This is about having a government that is both sensitive and responsive to the people of Goa as well as committed to world class infrastructure for the people which includes water and electricity, roads and a comprehensive mobility plan for the state of Goa,”
Sardesai said.
Speaking about his pet issues that of the coconut tree and nationalisation of rivers, Sardesai said that the agenda included nominating the coconut tree as the state tree as well as ensuring that the local government has the power to grant permissions for development along the river banks of nationalised waterways.
Besides this, all sensitive permissions issued by the Investment Promotion Board would be reviewed and the Investment Promotion Board itself would be renewed through ‘tightening of the screws’.
“We hope to come out with a comprehensive document by Statehood Day on May 30,” Sardesai said.
The meeting was also attended by Sudin Dhavalikar as a representative of the MGP.
