MARGAO
The Goa Forward was quick to distance itself from the no-trust motion tabled against Cuncolim Municipal Chairperson Laxman Naik with party President Vijai Sardesai expelling party councillor Uddesh Desai from the primary membership of the regional party.
After it became apparent that councillor Uddesh Desai has signed the no-trust motion along with the BJP councillors against CMC Chairperson Laxman Naik, Goa Forward general secretary Durgadas Kamat wrote a letter to the councillor that party President Vijai Sardesai has approved his expulsion from the primary membership of the regional party and also from the post of the Students Cell convenor with immediate effect for what the party termed as conniving with BJP in the Council. Uddesh Desai, who was elected on the Congress-backed panel in the 2021 Municipal polls, had joined the Goa Forward and was appointed the party’s Students Cell convenor.
Durgadas informed that the Goa Forward party will not tolerate any conniving with the BJP in the State.
