In line with the Central government, the Goa Government hiked the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners by 4 per cent with effect from January 1, 2024.
With this, the DA has been enhanced from 46 per cent to 50 per cent on the basic pay.
The decision, aimed at providing relief against the rising cost of living, will apply to all employees of the Goa government, as well as employees of Government-Aided Educational Institutions (GIA).
According to the directive, the increased DA will be reflected in the salaries of employees starting from April 2024. Additionally, arrears for the months from January 2024 to March 2024 will also be disbursed in the April salary to ensure that employees receive the full benefit of the increment.
