Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the memorandum of association between the two states has been drafted and a decision to sign it has been taken. The actual signing of the Memorandum of Association is expected to take place later.
“We have held discussions about collaboration in areas like promotion of trade, tourism, sports, pharma, yoga, ayurveda as well as Hawaiian products and wellness techniques and academics. The exchange will be mutual,” Parsekar said.
Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said that the agreement had been vetted by the Ministry of External Affairs.
The memorandum of association has been prompted by a visit of Tulsi Gabbard, an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who has been the United States Representative for Hawaii\'s 2nd congressional district since 2013 who on separate occasions met then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and current Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and discussed several issues.
