PANAJI
Panaji police on Friday registered a case each based on two separate complaints from each party against Abhay Chari and Maruti Sutar, who are neighbours, for allegedly assaulting each other on Friday.
The two men live in Caranzalem and share a common wall.
Panaji police have registered cases against both the parties under Section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) read with 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The first complaint was received from Chari, who alleged that at about 9 am, Maruti Sutar and Kushal Sutar came outside his house carrying a piece of Mangalore roof tile and a tin containing chilli powder and threatened him with dire consequences.
“When I was listening to them, along with my wife, all of a sudden they threw the chilli powder in my eyes and hit my wife on her head with the brick tile. As a result my wife sustained serious injuries on her head,” reads the plaint.
Chari further alleged that that the accused on the previous day at about 5.30 pm assaulted his son Abhishek Chari causing hurt to his leg and his thumb. It was also claimed that the accused also snatched gold chain from Abhishek’s neck.
The second complaint lodged by Maruti Sutar alleged that Abhay Chari wrongfully restrained him and his father while they were proceeding on a two-wheeler and assaulted them and injuring his father.
Injuries sustained by Sutar’s father have been confirmed by medical report, police informed.
PSI Pritesh Govekar and PSI Arun Gawas Desai are conducting further investigations into the cases.
