Streams of people from all walks ÂÂÂ students, professionals, laymen, members of the defence forces stationed in Goa, State bureaucrats ÂÂÂ thronged the venue thrown open to the public on this day.
Two live demonstrations drew packed audience at the venue ÂÂÂ as the show itself was enlivened by a breathÂtaking demonstration of the indigenously produced Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) \\\\\\\'Tejas\\\\\\\', the acrobatics by Scandinavian aerobatics team, the indigenously produced Main Battle Tanks ÂÂÂ Arjun displaying their amoured combative might, the Mountain Footbridge unfolding itself, Wheel armoured platforms and the acrobatics performed by \\\\\\\'Sarang\\\\\\\' helicopters piloted by country\\\\\\\'s best and experienced pilots.
Implementing the \\\\\\\'Make In India\\\\\\\' concept in defence arena, were the defence equipment of the TATA group ÂÂÂ which displayed its awesome might comprising of Mine Protection Vehicle (MPV) effectively deployed in combating Naxalites in Naxal affected States, High Mobility vehicles (HMV). While the Humvee vehicles of the USA moved on the turf to showcase ita ability in the defence sector.
While the LCA modelled by DRDO (Defence Reserach and Development Organisation) has been produced by HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) and several other agencies who have chipped in, the Naval prototype LCA was described as hurtling in the sky at 400 knots speed and flown for the first time for the people of Goa at the venue.
Both the MBT\\\\\\\'s demonstrated their manoeuverability in combat positions, with guns mounted atop them rotating as required, while the main gun was ready to shell the target. Designed by DRDO and manufactured in India, a Mountain footbridge measuring 46 metrs in length was displayed in the demo. The Wheel Armoured Platform weighing 24.5 tonnes was also displayed for the first time for a live demonstration.
The demonstration concluded with aerobatics display by \\\\\\\'Sarang\\\\\\\' helicopters team.
