Panaji: On Saturday night, the Saligao Police Station in Goa uncovered a gambling operation related to the Indian Premier League (IPL) and arrested three individuals. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a bungalow at Malhan Villa in Bellavista, Sangolda, Bardez Goa, where they caught Thakkar Kalpeshbhai Chandulal, Thakkar Sandeepkumar, and Jayeshbhai Patel Mayur red-handed.
These individuals, all from Gujarat, were found accepting bets online through mobile phones and laptops on the RCB versus RR IPL match. The police have filed charges under sections 3 and 4 of The Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976. During the raid, the police seized various items, including 10 mobile phones, 12 laptops, 3 notebooks, and 3 routers, totaling approximately Rs. 4,50,000.
