Goa ready to host National Games: Shripad

Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik on Thursday said that the State is set to host the National Games in November 2021.

Naik, along with the members of Olympic Association, Goa held a meeting with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and discussed issues such as preparedness of shooting range, squash and tennis court, cleaning of swimming pools etc.

“The Chief Minister has enthusiastically agreed to help the association in the organization of National games,” Naik informed.

The members of the organisation also requested the Chief Minister to provide 2000 sq mtrs of land at Taleigao plateau to Olympic Bhawan, which the Chief Minister assured to look into.

Boat with 8 tourists capsizes at Keri, all rescued by Drishti lifesavers

PERNEMEight tourists were rescued by Drishti lifesavers when their boat capsized after being hit by a wave. The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 11 at Keri. At about 12.50hrs at Keri, a water sports boat carrying a group of eight tourists toppled into the waters with the impact of an oncoming wave.
