Goa recorded 166 road accidents in August, resulting in nine fatalities, 20 grievous injuries, and 40 minor injuries, according to data from the Directorate of Transport.
The report shows 16 grievous accidents, 22 minor accidents, and 119 non-injury accidents across the state. Of the total fatalities, seven were riders (three in North Goa and four in South Goa), one pillion rider (South Goa), and one pedestrian (North Goa).
In addition, the Transport Department issued 8,921 traffic challans during the same month as part of enforcement and road safety measures.
