You may not need to mandatorily wear masks, a legacy of the Covid pandemic, in Goa soon, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Wednesday.
Asked if the state government was considering making Goa a mask-free state, Sawant said yes, adding: “The Collector will issue a notification.”
Barring a spurt in Covid cases at the BITS Pilani complex in South Goa, Goa’s daily Covid count has dropped considerably over the last few weeks. With three new covid cases on Wednesday, the State’s active caseload was at 41.
Goa’s neighbour, Maharashtra, has lifted mandatory wearing of masks.
