The Goa University on Friday cancelled its students council election process with immediate effect without citing any reason behind the decision.
The election process that commenced in two phases from this week in the respective colleges for the post graduation students has been cancelled following directions from the vice chancellor. The elections were scheduled for Group Representatives and Executive Body.
The elections and results for Group Representatives were scheduled on August 21 while the executive body was set to be elected on September 1.
“This is to inform all the concerned that the election process notified on August 7 stands cancelled as instructed by the Vice Chancellor,” the University said in the notice issued.
The Varsity said that the fresh process for the election for the academic year 2023-24 would be notified soon.
