Goans to get jobs after launch of Mopa airport, says BJP

Hitting out at Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai for making a statement that Goans are denied jobs at Mopa airport, BJP spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar has said that the actual process of employment will begin only after the inauguration of the airport.

“The 5,198 number that was mentioned by Sardessai are of the construction workers who will move out after the airport's completion,” Vernekar stated and added that long-term employment will begin only after the inauguration.

“Further, the jobs at the airport will be advertised regularly, as per the agreement, to benefit the locals,” he added.
