VASCO:
Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has directed the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) to increase the frequency of the KTC shuttle bus service from Vasco, to help people get to work and schools at affordable rates considering the recent hike in fuel prices.
"I have already instructed KTC to increase its frequency from Vasco in terms of more trips, especially the point-to-point trips, to cater to people who want to travel by buses.”
“A rise in fuel prices has put a lot of burden on people travelling to work in bikes and cars. There has been a lot of demand from people to increase the frequency of KTC buses and their shuttle service buses because they are looking at KTC as an affordable mode of transport,” said Godinho.
The minister said additional trips would also be considered for other routes wherever there is demand.
“Many people are now travelling by buses, and if we fulfil the demand, it will be a win-win situation for the KTC and people," said Godinho.
