Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho has appealed to people not to fall prey to the opposition’s tactics to misguide and block development work in the State.

Godinho was speaking to reporters after offering financial aid to Conceicao D'Souza e Vaz who was affected by cyclone Tauktae at Matvem-Dabolim, in the presence of BJP Dabolim Mandal President Sandeep Sood and others.

Godinho also assured to repair and renovate the house of the affected family.

"We will provide her with a bed and also take care of her medicine requirement. I will also try to take help from the CM Relief Fund and also use my money to re-build the woman’s house which was damaged," said Godinho.

“There has been a lot of development in terms of bridges, roads, etc., besides the continuation of many financial and medical schemes under the BJP government.

"People must support us in carrying out this development. They must not fall prey to some parties trying to misguide the people just before assembly elections," said Godinho.

Godinho recalled his involvement and intervention in major projects at Matvem-Dabolim.

“Road work on the steep slope at Matvem was carried out despite fears that the machine itself could topple. It was only after I sat on the machine as a guarantee that the work began. The hot-mixed road has now become the main access for residents in the area,” he added.
