In a major daylight burglary in a residential apartment in Fatorda, unknown persons looted an apartment of gold ornaments and cash all valued at around Rs 9.5 lakh.
The incident occurred in the apartment of Sandip Patil, resident of Raj Apartment, Flat No 02, first floor, behind the Durga petrol pump, Fatorda on Tuesday morning.
The incident is believed to have taken place between 7.45 am to 2 pm when the inmates of the house had gone out.
Complainant Sandeep Patil has lodged a complaint with the Fatorda police stating that four unknown male accused persons affected entry into the residential house by breaking open the main door of the house and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh, besides cash amounting to Rs 4.5 lakh, all worth around Rs 9.5 lakh.
The Fatorda police has registered a crime under section 454 and 380 read with section 34 IPC of the IPC. The investigation is in progress.
