PONDA: Stating that good society helps to build country in a better way, South Goa MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar on Sunday said it becomes the responsibility of educational institutes to mould students to become responsible students.
He was speaking during the inaugural function of Golden Jubilee celebration of Sharda English High School at Durbhat. Governor Mridula Sinha, Union AYUSH Minister Shirpad Naik, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar, Pradeep Shet and others were present.
Speaking further, Sawaikar said education plays a vital role to achieve development. "Education not only help us individually, but also helps to create good society. Schools have this responsibility to create good society," he added.
Sawaikar appreciated the efforts of Sharda English High School for its contribution in educational field.
Governor Sinha said educational institutes should also focus on imparting human values. "Inculcate human values in students. They are most important," she said.
"The world is accepting yoga and best things of Indian culture. We have very rich culture, which is accepted by the world now," she said.
Governor Sinha commended the efforts of Sharda English High School at Durbhat for starting the school after liberation.
PWD Minister Dhavalikar congratulated the locals for allowing sewerage treatment plant in their area. "You have helped the aim of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan by willingly allowing the STP," he said.
AYUSH Minister Shirpad Naik also spoke on the occasion. The founder members of the school were felicitated on the occasion.
