Govt allocates works worth Rs 1,726 cr to Central agency

The Goa government has allocated redevelopment works, worth Rs 1,726 crore to NBCC (India) Limited, formerly known as National Buildings Construction Corporation.

In a press statement issued on Monday, NBCC, a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, informed about receiving the contract from Goa government, in the first phase of work allocation.

The company would undertake the redevelopment of Junta House at 18th June Road, redevelopment of government garage at MG Road- Panaji, construction of administrative building at Porvorim, redevelopment of circuit house at Panaji, redevelopment of government quarters at St Inez; and Redevelopment of mini convention centre at Patto-Panaji.

Following the announcement, NBCC shares jumped by six per cent and stood at Rs 91.30. NBCC (India) is in business and operates into three major segments namely project management consultancy, real estate and engineering procurement & construction.
