The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has said the decision to cancel the notification covering Covid treatment under DDSSY by the BJP government is clear reflection of its pro-rich and anti-poor agenda and defective governance of CM Pramod Sawant.
Chodankar demanded that the government must immediately announce a fresh scheme or package to take care of Covid treatment.
He demanded revision of rates finalised by the government for Covid treatment in private hospitals.
“We charge that it is only because of differences which arose between the Chief Minister and the Health Minister, the government has cancelled the notification. It showed the BJP government bowed to pressure from private hospitals,” Chodankar added.
He said the withdrawal of DDSSY vindicates the Congress’ stand that both the CM and HM are busy making fortunes in time of the pandemic.
“The delay in starting a testing lab, purchase of various equipment like ventilators and machines in the last seven months was only because there was no consensus on sharing of commission between CM and HM.”
