In a bid to fast-track the disposal of long pending claims of tribal community under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) 2006, the State government on Sunday held special camps across six talukas.

During the camps held in Sattari, Ponda, Dharbandora, Sanguem, Canacona, and Quepem, 1635 claimants participated.

The initiative was jointly conducted by the District Administration, Tribal Welfare Department, and Forest Department, with full administrative coordination from Dy. Collectors and SDOs across all six talukas.

CMO informed that the government has set December 19, 2025 deadline to settle all pending 9000 odd claims under FRA.

CMO said that speaking about the camps, CM Pramod Sawant emphasized the state government’s commitment to implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision with full responsibility and speed.
