Govt is only a guardian: Margao Comunidade

President of Margao Comunidade, Savio Correia said the comunidades are autonomous bodies that belong to its components and the government is only a guardian.

Rane's comments on comunidades are his personal views, he said. Correia recalled that Rane who was heading the Rane Committee on Comunidades in 1974 held the same view even then.
While calling for strengthening the comunidades in Goa, Correia said scrapping comunidades is not the solution and asked the government to work out ways to make these bodies relevant in today's times.
