Govt not up to mark on health facilities: Mauvin

VASCO

Admitting that the State government had not been up to the mark regarding health facilities, Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Thursday said the government must apologise and seek the forgiveness of those who lost near and dear ones due to the pandemic.

Godinho struck a contrite tone while speaking to reporters after handing over an ambulance donated by Anand Bose to the Chicalim Sub-district Hospital.

“We must realise how many people have been upset after losing their near and dear ones. We must apologise to the people and seek their forgiveness because our government has not been up to the mark regarding facilities which had to be provided. We have seen so many deaths and I am truly sorry because we could not provide better facilities to the people.”

“Doctors, nurses and medical staff are doing their best and no matter how hard they try, the government must support them and things have to change now, otherwise people will never forgive us and we must realise this," said Godinho, while adding that all efforts must be made to improve health services in the State.
