Led by Deputy Collector, Margao John Fernandes, these teams are working in shifts at the Margao railway station to scan incoming passengers at the station.
Around 17 passenger trains, including the long-distance, presently make a halt at the Margao railway station and the deployment of the three teams is expected to bring the hundreds of passengers under the thermal scanner.
Deputy Collector, John Fernandes informed that given that the long-distance trains make a halt at the Margao railway station throughout the day and night, the teams will be working in shifts at the railway station.
While the teams taking up positions at the railway station since last night with the government unveiling the new SOP on Wednesday, no passenger has been found with temperature beyond the acceptable range so far. The SOP states that passengers with temperature beyond the range limit will have to undergo a COVID test by paying a fee of Rs 2,000.
