CANACONA
Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari on Friday petitioned Art and Culture Director Sagun Velip claiming that a number of works are still incomplete at the newly inaugurated Lata Mangeshkar Kalangan in Canacona.
According to Bhandari, though the Canacona Kalangan was inaugurated last month, certain works in and outside the complex are still incomplete. He stated that the floor where the Taluka Library is located is not properly protected from rain and has been causing problems for people using the library. “Apart from this, many other works such as sound-testing are not completed till date even after inauguration of the Canacona Kalangan,” said Bhandari.
He also claimed that there has been no beautification of the entire complex despite placing the Kalangan in a vast plot area of 8306 sq. mtrs. He said the GSIDC should take up the work to clean and beautify the complex on an urgent basis as well as undertake work to construct a garden.
“The complex should have statues of musical instruments, and replicas of artistes playing local musical instruments to add to the beauty of the art and culture complex,” Bhandari added.
