Govt refutes allegations in purchase of ventlators

The Health Minister refuted allegations of a scam in purchase of ventilators by the government.

"Criticizing is easy. If any people see a scam they can anytime approach court", said the Health Minister.

Dr R Venkatesh of Canacona had alleged that ventilators worth Rs two lakh have been purchased by paying four times the actual cost. Dr Venkatesh has cited a CAG report which mentions that more than Rs 200 crore was paid for the ventilators.

The Health Minister said his priority is to save lives of people and give people best medical facility.

He said that new block of Goa Medical College, Sakhali, Bicholim, South Goa district hospital building were completed during my tenure.

He also clarified the service contract given to Sodexo for providing food in Government hospitals.

"Our priority is to save lifes of people. We have appointed various agencies to have professional approach.

We have roped in a professional service of Sodexo. Goa is the only state which has best food service in Government hospital", said the Health Minister.
