Claiming that the State government will carry out development in the Saligao constituency, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said residents can be assured that all villages will witness a change over the next four-and-half years.
He was speaking at Betim after laying the foundation stone for the new Reis Magos Panchayat Ghar in the presence of Saligao MLA Kedar Naik, former chief minister & Margao MLA Digamber Kamat, Nuvem MLA Aleixo Sequeira, former MLA Milind Naik, State BJP president Sadanand Tanavade, ZP Member Sandeep Bandodkar and panchas.
“Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has served as sarpanch of Reis Magos and is well aware of the requirements of the villages and problems being faced by residents of Saligao constituency.”
“I have no doubt that he will prepare proper plans for infrastructure and human development and the State government will give him support to execute these plans,” said Sawant.
The chief minister said students who excel in exams and sports need encouragement and praised the Saligao MLA for felicitating the toppers in various fields.
Kedar Naik said the new Reis Magos Panchayat Ghar is being constructed by the RDA at a cost of Rs 87 lakh.
“This Ghar will be a two-storeyed building. The ground floor will be allocated to the market and the first and second floors to government departments such as health and electricity, while the remaining portion will be utilised for the panchayat office,” said Naik.
“I have been receiving good support from the State government and I will undertake development activities as per the requirements of panchayats in the Saligao constituency.”
On the occasion, students who secured distinctions at the SSC and HSSC exams of the Goa Board and excelled in sports were felicitated by Sawant.
Tanavade and Sandeep Bandodkar also spoke on the occasion.
