Govt to waive off fitness fee on trucks: Dharbandora truckers

The Dharbandora Truck Owners Association has claimed that the State government has agreed to waive off the fitness fee on trucks.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Dharbandora Truck Owners Association President Balaji alias Vinayak Gawas claimed that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had agreed to the waive off the fitness fee on the request of Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar.

“Truck owners have been facing financial problems after the closure of mining activities. Sanvordem MLA Ganesh Gaonkar had taken up the matter of fitness fees on trucks before the chief minister,” said Gawas, while expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for agreeing to waive off the fitness fee.

Gawas said Sawant is trying to restart mining activities in the State and added that there is a possibility that mining business will return to its former glory in the next few months.
