Stating that immediate relief in the form of food and shelter has been provided to families affected by the floods on Friday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the State government would provide compensation for the damages within 15 days.
He was speaking after inspecting the flood affected areas in Dharbandora and Usgao.
Sawant visited the flood affected village of Daukond-Dharbandora along with PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar and interacted with the affected people.
“Immediate relief in the form of food and shelter has been provided. Our government will provide compensation to the damages within 15 days,” said Sawant.
The chief minister also visited Bhamai and Usgao bazaar to inspect the damages.
Sawant said the State government had also swung into action and created an alternate route for villagers of Paikul in Guleli-Sattari to travel until the collapsed bridge is reconstructed.
The collapse of the bridge at Paikul had cut-off access to residents in the area and arrangements had being made for people to travel via Bondla.
