The Electricity department has planned a power shutdown on Sunday (July 25) in Bardez and Pernem to enable it to execute work on the 110/33 KV and 50MVA-II power transformer at the Tivim sub-station from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm.
The shutdown has been arranged to carry out the replacement of the OBF section of 33KV Bus-II (R-phase).
A senior official in the power department informed that alternate arrangements have been made to restore supply in most of the areas but supply could be disrupted for some time due to the extensive kind of work that will be undertaken.
The Tivim sub-station has made the following arrangements during the shutdown: Bicholim sub-station is requested to feed only Assonora Water Works on 33KV Bicholim-I as 33KV Assonora Water Works underground feeder will be kept off due to close proximity of the place of work.
Similarly, Pernem sub-station to shift load of Chandel Water Works on 33KV Pernem-II and 33KV Chandel feeder will remain off from Tivim Station.
Mapusa sub-station will avail supply on 33KV Mapusa-IV underground feeder and 33KV Porvorim-II feeder as 33KV Mapusa-I & II will be kept off while 33KV Mapusa-III will be restricted as and when required that is during dismantling and restringing of the bus section.
Porvorim sub-station will avail its feed of 1x10MVA power transformer on 33KV Porvorim-I instead of 33KV Porvorim-III.
According to the department the total load loss during the outage will be approximately 8.5MW.
