GSL launches coastguard ship 'Sujay'

Goa Shipyard recently launched the sixth and last of the series of Six CG OPVs, designed in-house and being built by GSL, for the Indian Coast Guard at Goa.
This 105-mt new generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) was launched Vijaya Goyal, wife of Inspector General S K Goyal, PTM, TM DY. Director General (M&M), Indian Coast Guard.
Rear Admiral Shekhar Mital, NM, IN (Retd) CMD, S P Raikar Director (Operations), T N Sudhakar Director (Finance) & Cmde B. B. Nagpal Director(CPP & BD) (GSL) along with DIG Manoj Baadkar District Commander Coast Guard Goa, DIG Arun Shrivastava, TM CGRPS and other senior dignitaries from Government, Navy and Coast Guard were present during the launching ceremony.
This new generation OPV is powered by twin diesel engines and is fitted with state-of-the-art Navigation and Communication Equipment. The vessel carries four boats for boarding party operations. One 30 mm Gun and two 12.7 mm guns with associated fire control system form the main weaponry package.
