GSM was reacting to the statement made by TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai seeking a ban on VHP in Goa.
Addressing a press conference, GSM President Anand Shirodkar said,
“The chief minister should give his opinion on this demand. Sardesai is making this statement to appease minority voters in his constituency who are upset with him for supporting the BJP to form the government.”
“I don’t know if he (Sardesai) knows about the work carried out by VHP in Goa. Just like the RSS, VHP workers too have a played a big role in bringing BJP to power. VHP has been a part of the Hindu community in Goa. This demand by Sardesai only shows his double standards,” said Shirodkar.
