GSM registration: ECI seeks objections

Goa Suraksha Manch, which is in the process of being registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI) as political parties under Section 29 A of Representation of People Act, 1951, and is presently under consideration by ECI for formal registration as political parties.

ECI has sought objections from general public to the applications with the last date for filing objections being set on December 29.

GSM, in its application to ECI, has named Anand Shirodkar as its president while also stating that its headquarter is based at Savai Verem, Ponda. Hrudaynath Shirodkar has been listed as the secretary of the party and Mahabaleshwar Mahambre has been named as its treasurer.

Public notices seeking objections to both the applications were published in two local newspapers on November 28.

PANAJI Vinod Phadke, accused in the second case of misappropriation of Goa Cricket Association (GCA) funds worth Rs 1 crore, on Thursday deposed before the Economic Offence Cell (EOC) of Goa Police and stated that he has no knowledge of the irregularities in the GCA accounts.
