GSPCB probe black powder presence in Aquem

The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) officials on Wednesday descended in Aquem Baixo village area to investigate the presence of the black powder with villagers suspected as either carbon particles or coal dust.
The officials were drafted by GSPCB Member Secretary Levinson Martins after the Aquem Baixo village Panchayat headed by Sarpanch Siddesh Bhagat highlighted the plight of the villagers as they had to contend with the black power in their homes almost everyday.
The sarpanch guided the
GSPCB team by showing the places which have been hit by the black powder, even as he demand relief to the health hazard at the earliest.
GSPCB Member Secretary Levinson Martins told The Goan that the team will conduct a detailed study on the presence of the black powder in the homes of villagers, adding that the report will unearth the exact nature of the black power.
