The Guirdolim gram sabha on Sunday demanded that the police outpost in the village should accept complaints from the people and not delay in registering FIRs.
At the meeting chaired by Sarpanch Sonia Fernandes, members pointed out a case where a panch member was assaulted, but the police outpost at Chandor had failed to register an FIR based on the complaint.
The members wondered what is the use of the police outpost if the personnel manning the same do not mete out justice to the people. The issue of illegal constructions at the 20-point programme and on Commundiade land also figured at the meeting.
The sarpanch has assured the members that the panchayat would conduct an inspection of the constructions in question before taking necessary action.
