Guv extends Onam greetings
PANAJI: The Governor Dr Mridula Sinha has extended greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa and specially the Keralite community on the occasion of Onam.
The Governor in her message has said Onam is reminiscent of Kerala’s agrarian past, as it is considered to be a harvest festival. It is a celebration that also marks the homecoming of King Mahabali, wherein people pay a glorious tribute to the memory of this benign king who nobly sacrificed for his kingdom. Celebrating this festival, symbolizes act of giving and being selfless towards mankind and following the religion of humanity.
May this year’s Onam festival bring immense happiness, joy and prosperity to one and all, the Governor further added.
