Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai on Monday said that the political opposition to the new Raj Bhavan building without knowing the facts is not good for democracy.
"This is a national monument. Governor, president or chief minister cannot change even a single stone. If anybody is making a statement that we are going to destroy it then sorry, I pray that God gives proper advice to these people. No monument is going to be destroyed," said the Governor.
"This type of propaganda is not good for the democracy of this country," said the Governor.
The Governor stated that he is happy that Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao got a position as Cardinal.
“Importance of that is that under the clergy setup of Christianity, an Indian has got the second-highest position as a Cardinal”, said Governor.
Governor added that he has already informed Archbishop Neri that the Raj Bhavan will felicitate him.
The Governor also that Goan villages are more beautiful than any other country, and for village tourism, spiritual and health tourism, there is much scope for development.
"Per Capita Index wise we are on top, however in the happiness index, we are in the last. We have to achieve the first position in India", said Governor.
