GVN lauded for moulding social consciousness, conserving culture

The Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar paid glowing tributes to Gomant Vidya Niketan (GVN) by referring to it as an instittution which has moulded the social consciousness as well as conserved culture.
Addressing a gathering after felicitating four personalities from different walks of life at GVN on Sunday, Parsekar termed GVN as an institution which carries on its work with the patronage of the people. “If people do not want any institution, they turn their back on it,” said the CM and added that many other saunsthas work on State patronage. He said GVN works on people's patronage and is one in the forefront of moulding social consciousness and conserving culture.
Earlier, he felicitated four personalities for their services in respective fields. They included Dr Vithal Vasant alias Ajit Kamat (Dr VV Kamat) who received the Keshav Anant Nayak Memorial Social Worker Award; while Soyra Mohite was conferred the Pirubai Dalal Memorial Swayamsiddha Award, Karnataka Arogyadham, Ghatprabha was honoured with Kashinath D Nayak Memorial Social Institution Award and Prabha Ganorkar was decorated with Poet Damodar Atchut Kare Memorial 'Gomantdevi Award.
Those present on the dais included GVN president Janardan Verlekar and vice-president Suhas Naik.
